Abstract: In the context of the European Network of Excellence called STELLAR, which brings together a number of European research organisations in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), a group of researchers aim to set up an environment for supporting Science 2.0 practices specifically for the interdisciplinary field of TEL. So far, the focus of the discussion has been on the tools and mash-up services that should be provided for the academic community in TEL. However, in order to talk about the tools and the appropriate technological landscape it is important to define the concept of Science 2.0 as well as the processes and practices that this concept embraces.
